Our Story
From a Bedroom Experiment to a Fragrance House Signature Cents Custom Fragrances was born in February 2024, in a bedroom in South Carolina, from something simple: the desire to smell unique.
Before Signature Cents was a business, fragrance was a passion.
I was a compulsive purchaser of colognes and had built an extensive personal collection over the years.
That collection did more than fill my closet—it helped develop my nose and gave me an appreciation for the artistry, composition, and character behind great fragrances.
Then one day, I purchased an expensive cologne based on the recommendation of a fragrance influencer on YouTube.
Unfortunately, it smelled terrible on me.
That experience led to a conversation with a coworker who told me that I could make my own fragrances. I had never intended to become a fragrance creator, but that conversation sparked my curiosity. I began researching how fragrances were properly formulated, sourcing quality materials, and experimenting with different combinations.
What started as an experiment for myself quickly became something much bigger. People around me began noticing.
I was told repeatedly that I smelled good. Then my coworkers started asking if they could purchase the fragrances I was making. What began as something I created strictly for myself eventually sold out—not once, but twice at work.
That was the moment I knew I was made for this.
Our Fragrance Philosophy
At Signature Cents, we believe luxury fragrance should not be reserved for people with luxury budgets.
Our ideal customer is the everyday American who appreciates niche and sophisticated fragrances but may not be able or willing to spend hundreds of dollars on a single bottle.
Our purpose is simple: To make it possible to smell luxurious while living on a budget.
Our fragrances are formulated at Parfum concentration—30% fragrance concentration—and are designed to provide a long-lasting fragrance experience, typically lasting 7+ hours on skin, depending on the wearer and environment.
Our fragrance oils are sourced primarily from Switzerland, along with materials from a trusted supplier in Georgia. Every fragrance is developed with careful attention to its scent profile, balance, character, and performance.
We Don't Make “Inspired By” Fragrances
Signature Cents creates fragrances with their own identity.
Some of our fragrances explore scent profiles that fragrance lovers may recognize from popular or niche fragrance categories. But we do not simply attempt to duplicate another brand’s fragrance. Every Signature Cents fragrance is given its own unique DNA.
I personally develop the concepts, source the materials, blend the ingredients, and create the fragrances.
That means every bottle represents more than a fragrance formula. It represents an idea brought to life
Signature Cents has grown primarily through word of mouth and social media. Customers have shared
their experiences, fragrance influencers across social platforms have given Signature Cents rave reviews, and many of our customers have become our greatest form of advertising simply by telling someone else about what they discovered.
What began in a bedroom has grown into a fragrance experience reaching customers throughout the
United States.
From South Carolina to the United States
Signature Cents was born in South Carolina, and that will always be an important part of who we are. The name itself carries that connection. The initials S.C. represent both Signature Cents and South Carolina. Even the decision to spell “Scents” with a C was intentional.
It is our way of carrying where we came from with us.
We want fragrance lovers throughout South Carolina and the states that surround us to feel a sense of pride knowing that Signature Cents was birthed here—our home. But while South Carolina is where our story began, our customers have taken that story across the
country.
